CASE STUDY: INSIDE INNOVATION SUMMIT


Tulsa Innovation Labs approached us with a unique challenge—to not only rebrand their boutique summit in downtown Tulsa but also to create all the event assets that would bring their vision to life across both digital and physical platforms. The summit, themed “The Future is Bright,” aimed to showcase Tulsa’s future-focused growth in technology and innovation while paying homage to the city’s rich cultural heritage. This required a fresh, dynamic visual identity and a comprehensive set of materials to support everything from event signage to attendee experiences.

CHALLENGE


The challenge wasn’t just to develop a new brand but to deliver a complete package that encompassed branding, marketing, and event materials—all with a unified look and feel. The existing identity and assets lacked cohesion and failed to capture the energy and innovative spirit of the summit.

THE STRATEGY

Our process began with extensive research into Tulsa's past, present, and future, blending historical elements with forward-looking design principles to create a brand that would stand out at the event and resonate with a diverse audience. We drew inspiration from Tulsa's deep roots in industry and its emerging role in technological innovation.

THE EXECUTION


The rebranding effort kicked off with a modernized logo that could be utilized across multiple formats—from print to digital, to merchandise. The logo was designed to be sleek, modern, and versatile, ensuring that it worked equally well on a T-shirt, a banner, or a website.

Next, we developed a complete visual identity system. We selected a vibrant color palette featuring bold purples, oranges, and gradients that represented creativity, progress, and optimism for the future. Fonts were chosen for their modern aesthetic and readability, ensuring that all materials—from printed brochures to digital presentations—maintained a professional yet innovative feel.

In addition to branding, we were tasked with creating all the visual and physical assets needed for the summit. This included:

  • Event Signage: Large banners, directional signage, and animated stage backdrops, each designed to amplify the event’s message while maintaining a consistent look and feel.
  • Printed Materials: Brochures, agendas, welcome packets, badges, and informational booklets that aligned with the summit’s theme and branding.
  • Digital Assets: Social media graphics, email templates, and web assets for marketing the event in the lead-up to the summit.
  • Presentation Templates: Animations for summit speakers to use during their presentations, maintaining a cohesive visual experience for the audience.

The overarching theme—“The Future is Bright”—was reflected in every design element, from the warm, futuristic color palette to the abstract shapes representing innovation and progress.

The Tulsa Innovation Labs Summit was a resounding success, with the rebranding and cohesive asset design receiving high praise from both attendees and organizers. The bold visual identity helped make the event stand out as a forward-thinking gathering, perfectly aligned with its message of innovation and economic growth.
